Rudolf Steiner gave many indications to th first teachers at the Waldorf School. Which of these gifts are the most useful for teachers and parents today?
In 1924, Steiner gave a course titled Curative Education that gave us indications on how to care for children with special needs. Today every child has individual needs through which they are asking for help to enter into their bodies so that they can become the captains of their own ship and fulfill their destiny.
In this course you will learn:
1. Observation without prejudice as a tool to knowing your child’s needs.
2. Movement: How to teach the three principles that allow us to have a center in our body: Contraction/Expansion, Gravity/Levity, Balance.
3. How to guide and teach children from the periphery, allowing them to do the work.
4. Leaving labels behind in order to find your child’s next step.
5. Creating boundaries that support your child.
6. Allowing your child to discover the truth and know it for themself.
7. How to let your child know that you truly believe in them.
The teachers of this course, Lilith and Sebastien Dupuis, have more than 30 years experience teaching in Waldorf Schools. They are graduates of The Mulberry Center for Curative Education, a 3 year training. For 5 years they ran their own school for children aged 3-18 years old based on these principles.
